Android 4.3, new Nexus 7 could arrive on July 24 at “breakfast with Sundar Pichai” event
Google has issued invites for a special July 24 media event, when the press is invited to join the company for a mysterious “breakfast with Sundar Pichai.”
The simple press invite doesn’t reveal that many details, nor do we see any subtle hints at what to expect from the event, but from the looks of it, there’s going to be a livestream.
Unless Pichai will offer attendants some sort of spectacular breakfast worth livestreaming, we’d say that the company is finally ready to unveil new hardware and software – we’re obviously referring to the new Nexus 7 and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Obviously, we could be wrong, but what else would Google want to unveil on that date?
We’ll also remind you that Verizon has a July 23 event scheduled, likely to unveil the new Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and the Droid Mini, so next week may prove to be very interesting for Android.
Earlier today, we showed you alleged prices for the upcoming new Nexus 7, coming from an unnamed retailer that will supposedly stock the tablet. An earlier rumor did say that the handset will be launched in Taiwan in late July – assuming that rumor is true, then we would expect to see the new Nexus 7 get official in the following weeks.
An FCC document that revealed the Asus K009 is actually part of the Nexus family – therefore likely the new Nexus 7 – also said that the device will run Android 4.3, which is why we’d expect the new Android version to be announced at the same time with the new tablet.
