htc one google play edition aa back profile

HTC has already been rolling out the Android 4.3 update to the developer and Taiwanese versions of the HTC One, and now unlocked international HTC One owners will be served with the same update.

The update will bring improved low light photos, Bluetooth LE and OpenGL ES 3.0 support, Sense 5 enhancements and more. Unfortunately, owners of the US or Canadian carrier versions of the HTC One will have to wait a little longer as HTC’s Jason Mackenzie has tweeted to reveal that the update will “slightly miss” the deadline for the end of September.

Mackenzie promises to keep HTC One owners updated, but it’s not quite clear what “slightly miss” means in this case, so it might be a few more weeks before HTC rolls out the update to the rest of the HTC One variants.

For those of you with an international HTC One, go to Settings>About Phone>System updates and start hitting that check for updates button!

Are you glad to see HTC improve its updating speed? Or are you still disappointed at the speed with which flagship devices are being updated to the latest versions of Android?

There you go, was about time that AA mentions this

    • Adam Koueider

At first, I didn’t know what you were talking about. Then I looked at your comment history. Sorry dude, we can’t read all of the comments!

Although, I do try to keep on top of my article’s comments section for the first 24 hours. Remember if you’ve got a tip like that, there’s always the “Tip US” button in the top banner ;)

      • Amine Elouakil

        Sure no problème :)

  • John Profita

still disappointed that the HTC One carrier phones like at&t in the United States are going to be last to get the 4.3 update. WHY

    • Amine Elouakil

Why is it HTCs faults, they developed the update, they’ve send to carriers, and it’s been on carriers hand for a while now.
Well don’t worry you’ll get the update in a week or two, from how things are right now

      • John

if it is in fact true that the carriers have had the update and not rolling it out to its customers then I apologize for my statement however I was not aware of that. in that case thank you for the information. I keep up a lot on the HTC phones and the updates and I was not aware that the carriers have that update.

        • Amine Elouakil

No problem we are here to share informations :), Carriers wants to add their bloatware to the update that’s why they delay it….

    • Liam

Because this whole time U.S had had android 4.2 while canada still has 4.1

      • Amine Elouakil

Canada is getting updated now, check for the update

    • theotheruseoneishere

because carriers also add their crap on top of that and have to do some other crap for at&t and tcom or whatever the company is. they fine tune it “”. thats why it takes time.

  • John-Phillip Saayman

This update has been pretty quick.. What, was it 2 months since it was announced. And just look at the current Samsung Galaxy Note 2, S3, S4 situation. Delays delays delays…

  • JaG

What should I do if I don’t receive the update ? I havent received it yet. Should I register some where. thanks.

    • Adam Koueider

Takes a few days for it to roll out to everyone. Just stay patient. It’ll come soon.

  • Misiu

I havent received my update yet either.

I haven’t received my update yet either. Unlocked HTC one Malaysia

  • David Dunshea

I haven’t Received the update Yet – Australia

    • Amine Elouakil

It’s region by region you have to wait a couple of days to a week or two

  • theotheruseoneishere

    hey all,

i was thinking of selling my gs4 and switching to htc1. wise or not?

    • Marceldy

if you don’t mind trying something slightly different more stable and snappier, then go for it.

    • thereasoner

You’ll’love the HTC ONE! Besides running smoother you get a much cleaner UI with far less bloat bogging it down and features that you will actually use. Also has a far brighter screen for those occations when you’re outside on a sunny day, that was a complaint I had with my GS3 and the S4 only marginally improved on that. Looks like HTC is supporting it with timely updates as well and you’ll also get a much sleeker designed phone to boot.
Switching to HTC was a no brainer imo!

      • theotheruseoneishere

@thereasoner:disqus thanks for the advice. i also had the gs3 and now gs4. problem with them is that you get updates soooo late. crazy! it sounds good now. i think i am gonna go ahead and sell it. i hope it is not too late in the cycle for a change? i mean the next htc1 is coming in feb or march i guess.

        @Marceldy:disqus i smell a little sarcasm there ;)

        • nak19

No update on HTC oneyet. But heard most of Samsung had it on 4.3 intl version.

    • I am with you

Just bought the Htc One yesterday. It is surely the best phone i ever had :) The most pleasing to use and sexy as hell

      • theotheruseoneishere

i have looking for places to buy it. cant find any near me :( i want to buy it from Austria, and I contacted them, MediaMarkt (=BestBuy of Europe) and they said they dont have it. HTC doesnt have a seller i think, i mean a store. Any adivice? Other places/companies in Austria (Vienna)? Any suggestions?

        • zZim

There are a lot of places in Bratislava where you can buy it :)

You should try hej.sk – great service, free returns etc.

    • David

Its the phone of the year dude.. :)

    • nak19

Not wise. All options r missing. Agree on hardware HTC is good.

  • jonas

I recieved an update yesterday but still I’m stuck at 4.2.2. Maybe the 4.3 update isn’t rolling out in Germany yet.

I’ve got another question. When I put a sim card in my phone and I run the setup, will it make my phone a carrier branded version?

    • Adam Koueider

No, that doesn’t make your phone carrier branded. Since the update is a staggered rollout, it takes a few days to get to everyone. Stay patient, it’ll be there soon.

  • Mike Reid

    >Are you glad to see HTC improve its updating speed?

    Yes !

Samsung has been MUCH better than HTC with updates and keeping promises for the last 2 years.

Now HTC is starting to look better. Hope it continues, and hope Samsung re-rises to the challenge instead of sitting on it’s laurels.

  • Vaidas

I havent received my update yet either.

    Hi
I’ve noticed quite a few posts and alerts regarding the new 4.3 HTC One update.
I’m sure there have been others but can’t understand why they haven’t posted, but I received the 4.3 update from the 4.1.2 version 3 days ago (Sept. 25).
I’m located in Ontario, Canada. I have an unlocked One purchased online from HTC in the States, if that accounts for anything.
Everything went smooth but, I will warn everone, this is a Huge update. It took nearly 30 minutes to download and install.
There are quite a few new features and performance updates. The only
“negative” I’ve noticed is in battery drain and it takes “longer” to recharge.* My opinion here.
    Regards

    • Amine Elouakil

Maybe the update wiped your batterys stats?

    • nak19

4.2 is heating up. Longer to charge. Speaker fon Bluetooth has static sound, voice breaking.

  • Nix

Is the purple filter when taking pictures in low light now gone?

  • Damian Soto

How can i check what edition I have?

    • Amine Elouakil

with CID google it for more information

  • Reuben

My HTC one still can’t get new update yet

  • chanu

Hey all..m using the at&t version of the htc one here in india..unlocked it here only…so will i receive the updates. From at&t anymore..??m currently running on 4.1.2..

    • Amine Elouakil

You’ll get it when ATT start deplying it, whey don’t you change your CID to international and be alright

      • chanu

Thanks for the reply..so how can i check whether the phone has been converted to international version…??

        • Amine Elouakil

You can convert your device by changing CID, I suggest you to check XDA or other website for step by step explanation, but if you aren’t techsavy and don’t want to go trough the hassle, just wait a week or two and you should get the update (once ATT starts rolling the update in the US)

          • chanu

Yeah i can wait for a while..phone is functioning awesum though..only probelem is it gets heated after a while ..i guess its more due to its metal body..

  • Amine Elouakil
