    Galaxy-S2-Jelly-Bean

Oh, boy. There sure is plenty of good news about Jelly Bean today. If you own the Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100G, which was released in some Asian and European countries, it’s our pleasure to inform you that you can now join the Jelly Bean party alongside the international (GT-I9100) and South Korean (SHW-M250L) variants of the phone.

The JZO54K update that will take you to Jelly Bean is now rolling out via OTA to the handset. You should be able to grab it via Kies as well, though that does mean you’ll have to connect the phone to the computer and fire up Samsung’s PC companion software.

Once you’ve made the jump, your Galaxy S2 will feel like a whole new phone. After all, the JB firmware replaces the old TouchWiz UI with Nature UX, bringing the device on par with Galaxy S3 in looks and function. You’ll be getting smart features like Direct Call, Smart Stay, and Pop-up Play, new notification bar with more notification toggles, new lock screen and widgets, and more.

Check your phone now to see if the Android 4.1.2 update is waiting there. Let us know below if you’ve gotten the software bump up and how you’re loving it!

The fact that no US carriers have it yet makes me annoyed lol. But good things come to those that wait.

I really wish the JB update for s2 has the Samsung Photosphere, but i heard it is not an included feature.

    • http://twitter.com/aim_2002 Zachary The Awesome

The reason we aren’t getting photosphere is because that is a 4.2 feature. We are getting 4.1.2

If you wouldn’t mind updating via ODIN you can go to sammobile (google it), download the firmware (xxslr-France) and then flash manually on your phone via Odin version 3.0.4 and viola you have it. Please download the right version for the i9100g variant or else you can brick your phone. I am in Kenya and on 4.1.2. Works like a charm. Good luck!!

No reason to flash in warranty time. Couple of days and I get my DBT update too.

        • Eric

That’s true. If one can wait for it they should.
