What we have here appears to be the first credible video of a white Galaxy S2, running what appears to be Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0, and folks, it looks awesome. Paying attention to Android…
If you’re fond of snapping pictures here and there and would love the ability to edit them quickly before storing or uploading them to Facebook, Twitter, or Google+, then one of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich’s newest feature is your best buddy–a photo editing feature.
Our friends over at Android Police have uncovered source files indicating that a built-in photo editor is in the works for Android’s latest mobile operating system version. This feature runs in the native gallery, so each photo being viewed will possibly include an “Edit” button to access the editing tools.
Since this feature is built into Ice Cream Sandwich, it is not available as a separate app that can be installed on previous Android versions.
The icons below, originally shown as transparent on white without the black background, demonstrate the user-friendly interface for the photo editing tool. It can perform basic editing functions such as cropping, rotating, and flipping. It also has advanced filters and effects such as Fisheye, Lomo-ish, Sepia, Grain, and Posterize, among others.
High-level photo editing skills are no longer a must–you can get the same, professional look with just a tap of a button on an Android smartphone or Android tablet.
We have hinted at this feature in an earlier post. Whoever said Ice Cream Sandwich wouldn’t be delicious–the photo editing feature is one more reason to prove them wrong. Do you hear the crisp plastic wrapper of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich being ripped already? Can’t wait for tomorrow, eh?
