Our sister site, MobileBurn, got word straight from Verizon Wireless that the Motorola DROID will be updated to Android 2.0.1 in the next few weeks. Fixes in the 2.0.1 update include improvements in both the camera autofocus and in voice call reception. The update will be delivered over-the-air so DROID owners just have to sit back and wait for it to be distributed. Speaking of DROID owners, any future owners out there may want to head down to Verizon Wireless this weekend. Starting Friday, the DROID Eris will be part of Verizon’s well-known buy one, get one free sale. If you buy a DROID or a DROID Eris from December 4-7th, you are eligible to get a DROID Eris for free. As always, a two year contract is required for both the full priced and the free phone.
More info available at the Verizon Wireless website.
