Amazon to provide music and video store for Android smartphones

VentureBeat is reporting that a T-Mobile G1 was seen over the weekend sporting an Amazon.com powered music store application. VentureBeat’s sources believe that the store will be based on the AmazonMP3 store and will allow users to buy or rent music and likely buy videos as well.

Take that, iTunes.

This is still all way in the realm of speculation at this point, of course, but we are hoping to hear something more concrete at the T-Mobile G1 launch event tomorrow morning.
