Amazon Kindle Fire

In recent years, Gamestop has become a whole lot more than just a traditional video game retailer. In addition to gaming, Gamestop has also branched out to movies, mobile electronics, tablets and refurbished iOS devices. Expanding on this strategy even further, the retailer will now carry the Amazon Kindle Fire family as well.

Gamestop intends to offer both the regular Kindle Fire and the 7-inch and 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD models. Even better, these tablets will come with a $25 Amazon gift card for a limited time. The promotion is expected to end on January 31st.

Have an original Kindle Fire already? Gamestop is offering a trade-in promotion for those looking to upgrade. Up to $100 of in-store Gamestop credit will be given for the OG Kindle Fire.

Is the Kindle Fire a great choice if you are primarily interested in tablet gaming? Yes and no. While the Kindle Fire line does have a decent amount of games, you will find a much wider selection on a device like the Google Nexus 7, thanks to the Play Store.

Still, if you have your heart set on a Kindle Fire or Fire HD, you might want to consider getting it from Gamestop soon in order to get in on the $25 gift card promotion. What do you think, interested in getting a Kindle Fire from Gamestop or not?
