Some good news for those using the Amazon Cloud Drive. Or maybe some news that will convince a few to give the Amazon Cloud Drive another look. It seems Amazon has announced another addition for the Cloud Drive. This latest arrives as the Amazon Cloud Drive Photos app and it is available for Android smartphones and tablets.
The app is available for free and brings support for devices running Android 2.3.3 or later. You will be able to find the app in Google Play and in the Amazon Appstore. The Amazon Cloud Drive comes with 5GB of storage for free and can be upped to 20GB for $10 per year. Storage and pricing aside though, lets get into the features that come along with the Cloud Drive Photos app.
In short, you can upload your pics and then share them on the device or on other sites such as Facebook. You can think of the Amazon Cloud Drive as your photo album — one that will always be with you. The images you upload can be viewed and shared directly on your device and can be shared with a group on an HDTV (assuming you have a device with the necessary connection). There is also options to share over email and “many other apps.”
All said and done, this looks like another nice way to have backup files of your images. In fact, the one catch we see at this point — you cannot automatically upload yet. Instead you will need to upload on a per image or per album basis.
