Today only: 11 premium apps can be yours for free, courtesy of Amazon AppStore

AmazonIt was one year ago that Amazon brought its AppStore over to the EU. In celebration of the milestone, Amazon is now giving away 11 paid apps for today only. Even better, this offer isn’t just for those in Europe. According to Amazon, the offer will run in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, Spain, France, Italy and Japan.

Here’s the full list of apps on offer for absolutely free:

  • Jamie’s 20 Minute Meals
  • Drawing Pad
  • Angry Birds (Ad-Free)
  • PAC-MAN HD (Kindle Tablet Edition)
  • World of Goo
  • Shazam Encore
  • SwiftKey
  • Calengoo
  • Sprinkle
  • Paper Camera
  • Cut the Rope

Technically Cut the Rope is Amazon’s normal “free app of the day”, but no matter how you slice it, this is an awesome deal. While Amazon’s store might not be as good as the official Play Store, it is known for giving away some pretty awesome premium apps from time to time.

So what are you waiting for? Head on over to Amazon now and start downloading before the day is up and the deal is over!

aren’t their free apps riddled with tons of adwares and trackers ? not much to complain when they are giving it free – but multiple adware makes it a bit of a suspect.

    • Nick

      is that true?

    • Michael Chastain

That’s not true. They’re the same apps that are otherwise available in the Play or Amazon stores. The only complaint I’ve seen is that app developers aren’t adequately compensated for them, but that’s part of the bargain app developers strike.

      • APai

yes, i agree with the inadequate compensation part – the developers get 0% revenue sharing according to new rules, which the developers aren’t supposed to disclose under an NDA. scumbag amazon, why deprive developers ? i do love a bargain and i wait for a sale, and i end up buying more apps then i actually play because it’s sold for a song.

as regards the adware part – i am trying to place the source, I cannot recall it atm. mostly xda. will post it once i find it.

Thanks AA, just installed Swiftkey for free :D

    • Donotbebiased

Do you have to give your address to install apps?

      • lhtbinh1909

It’s Amazon Appstore so require an Amazon account. If you don’t have any, make one. Just like regist at any other sites

        • Donotbebiased

I have an account, but when I want to download an app, it asks for details to make this 1 click thingy, which includes giving of address.

          • lhtbinh1909

Well, first I installed Amazon Appstore APK > Log in > Search apps > Click download and done. That’s all I know.

  • It’s still live. I just got SwiftKey and Drawing Pad.
