Acer Liquid Z110 Duo hits Clove UK with low-end specs and £110 price tag

Can anyone remember the Acer Liquid Z110 Duo that we spotted back in September and that was supposed to come “soon” to Europe and Asia? To be frank, we had very little recollection of the phone too, until we heard today that it started selling in the UK.

Clove is the “lucky” retailer to have the dual-SIM device up for grabs and for a pretty good price – just £110.40, including VAT for the unlocked version. Unfortunately, that’s the only good thing about the 3.5-incher, who’s a big mess spec-wise.

We knew for a while that this would come with a single-core 1 GHz processor, 256 MB of RAM and a 480 x 320 pixels resolution display, so we shouldn’t be too horrified about all that. What we can complain about is the running of Android 2.3 Gingebread instead of the on-board ICS that we all expected.

What can we say about the 3 MP rear-facing camera, 256 MB of on-board storage and 1,300 mAh battery? Maybe bleah? Nah, we’re too classy for that, so we’ll take the diplomatic approach instead and say the specs are below par.

There’s also 3G (on one SIM), GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, an FM radio and microSD support, all of which are too generic to make a difference and get the Z110 Duo back on track. Still, if you don’t mind making (a lot) of compromises and you care only about money and fitting two SIMs into one phone, head on over to Clove and get yourselves a Liquid Z110 Duo.

512 MB RAM, not 256 MB of RAM. Just got one for €99, pretty good to me :)
