The first device to shoot 4K video is a great Android smartphone in its own. See how the Liquid S2 looks in hand in our quick look video.

There were a lot of new Android smartphones and tablets launched at IFA this year, and, as a manufacturer, it can be hard to make your devices stand out from the competition. That is unless you have a unique or rare feature that you can talk up to get into the spotlight.

In the case of the Acer Liquid S2, that marquee feature is 4K video recording. Leaving aside the fact that only a microscopic fraction of smartphone users can truly enjoy the feature, the Liquid S2 has a number of other features that make it worth of your attention.

The 6-inch device features a very bright Full HD IPS display, a Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2GHz, a 13MP camera, and a 3,300 mAh battery. The camera is obviously the strong suite of this oversized phone, and the super bright LED ring ensures that your scenes will be well lit.

Its called a circular LED flash . And if I am not wrong they filed a patent for this kind of design and it can’t be used by other manufacturers . Too bad :(

The number of users that can take advantage of 4K is not quite that microscopic — sure, not that many 4K TVs out there yet, but many of us have 2560×1600 and 2560×1440 monitors so we’ll definitely see the difference with video recorded from this phone. I WANT ONE!
