Acer’s Iconia B1-A71 – that’s its name according to the press release – is going to be a 7-inch Jelly Bean budget tablet ready to take on the Nexus 7 or Amazon’s Kindle Fires, to name just a few Android tablets popular with the crowds.

You’ll certainly love the fact that unlike some similar devices out there – cough… Nexus 7… cough – the Iconia B1-A71 does come with microSD support for up to 32GB storage expansion. As for other specs and features, don’t expect the device to be a Nexus 7 contender when it comes to raw performance, but it will certainly get its job done.

Pricing and Release Dates

The Acer Iconia B1-A71 will cost “less than $150” when it launches later this year, although we don’t have actual release dates for you at this time.

Anyone looking forward to grab this device as soon as possible or are you waiting for Tegra 4 tablets to hit stores?

better just give some $ more to get a good nexus 7 with tegra 3

    • strider_mt2k

Not built for that market if you read up on the device.

Pricing says “under $150.” So that means it’s gonna cost $149. Sorry, no reason not to shell out the extra $50 for the N7.

    • strider_mt2k

      Sure there is. -External storage.
But I wonder if it will be well supported into the future?

  • Twisted247

I’d rather grab a last gen nexus 7 then this for the money..

Does this tab support connecting flash disk via microUSB reduction?

  • roy

1 problem with this tab? low ram. is it really that expensive tech to provide tablets with a gb of ram? well.. atleast..

    • Anthony Tarantino

Acer’s older A110 tablet had 1 GB of RAM, so it’s really odd that Acer would make a new tablet with even worse specs.

  • Anthony Tarantino

This has worse specs than the A110, which was released last year. What the hell?
