8GB Nexus 4 sells out on Google Play

It seems that all good things must come to an end, ladies and gentlemen.

The absurdly priced $199.99 8GB Nexus 4 has just sold out on the Google Play store. At $199, it’s quite easy to see why.

Google confirmed with The Verge that the 8GB  version will not be restocked. And , for those of you that are on the market for a new device, the 16GB Nexus 4 still remains the most compelling, especially considering it is still priced at $249.

The Nexus 4 was originally announced 11 months ago in October, so perhaps the time is nigh for the next iteration of the Nexus family. The key question that remains now is this – what manufacturer close to Google will be in a position to offer a similarly priced, expediently updated Android device like the Nexus 4 in the near future?  Can our hopes for a comparably priced Nexus 5 with an upgraded set of hardware be on the horizon?

It better be on the horizon. Nexus 4 was the only real affordable phone that you could compare to any flagship out there. Even now we see sites like AA comparing it to newer models. This is the crowd favorite and i hope they don’t mess this one up.

I ordered a 8GB for my dad. Hopefully there will be a Motorola neXus 5 for me.
