I got to spend a bit of time with the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Android phone last night while in New York. It is an interesting device, to be sure, but I have to be…
The hotly anticipated Sony Ericcson Xperia X10 was originally due for release on the 10th January 2010. However, things got put on hold for a short while, as is common when attempting to keep to a launch date. However, thanks to Play.com, it would now appear as though the X10 has a new availability date, at least in Europe. The online super-store has the SE X10 up on their website now with a January 18th launch date, 2010 of course.
The device is described as a SIM Free, unlocked 8 Megapixel mobile phone in Sensuous Black. Indeed, the 8MP camera is capable of taking photos up to 3264×2448 pixels and also offers autofocus with an LED flash. Aside from the obvious emphasis on the 8MP camera, Play.com have also listed an entire specification sheet which you can view if you pop over to their website. For me, it is a real shame that they could not get this phone out before Christmas, but the word on the web had suggested that this decision was made so that SE did not cannibalise sales from their other devices available this holiday season.
