16GB Nexus 4: Gone in 20 minutes on Google Play Store in Australia

January 31, 2013

Oops, the Nexus 4 has done it again. We told you yesterday that the flagship Nexus phone was returning to Google Play in Australia. It looks like buyers didn’t waste a single moment to wipe the virtual shelves clean, as the 16GB variant of the phone is now no longer available for purchase.

This sure feels like a dĂ©jĂ  vu, except that is has actually happened before. This time, the stock on the Play Store was exhausted in just 20 short minutes. Fortunately, all isn’t lost as you can still get the 8GB Nexus 4 there, which we don’t think will stay that way for too long.

There’s no telling when Google will restock the Nexus 4 in 16GB flavor. If you don’t mind paying extra, you may want to consider grabbing it from Harvey Norman instead, as it will start offering the phone in its stores starting tomorrow, albeit in a limited quantity. The 16GB model can be had for AUS$496.

So, did you manage to grab the 16GB Nexus 4 today from the Play Store? Disappointed about the stock problem? Hit the comments below.

Since I live in a country different then the ones where you can buy from the playstore, I had no choice but to buy through amazon and get it via a forwarder. I literally paid double for it.
Google should make the presence worldwide.

Wow… 20 minutes? I actually managed to get my hands on one, so I must have made my purchase just at the right time. Cannot wait to get my hands on it, have been waiting for new Nexus goodness for such a long time. Will be kinda sad to finally retire my trust Samsung Nexus S though… It has served me well!
